MeetingMatrix® Was There for the inaugural Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix that took place at Abu Dhabi’s
prestigious Yas Marina Circuit.

Abu Dhabi is rapidly transforming into the business, cultural, sports, and leisure travel destination of the 21st century. Motorsport is a huge part of the sporting culture of the Middle East and Abu Dhabi was delighted to have secured the right and privilege to host the first ever Formula 1™ Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It was an exciting couple of days for the racers and the host city of Abu Dhabi, and marked the climax of the World Championship season.

The Yas Marina Circuit is a world-class F1 race track, packed with unique and innovative features. It is the only circuit in the world where a 500 bedroom, 5-star hotel actually straddles the track. Racing directly under the all-new Yas Hotel, guests felt as though they were actually at the track – experiencing the sensation of race cars passing underneath, cars in the pit lane re-entering the circuit via a tunnel, and drivers who missed their breaking point at the end of the longest straight in Formula 1 had to traverse a run-off area beneath the West Grandstand. The significance, excitement and importance of this race weekend meant the Yas Hotel had to plan and execute many key events. With the help of MeetingMatrix, everything went exactly as planned.

On the 2 April, 2009 world leaders gathered in London to address the global financial crisis. MeetingMatrix Was There as some of the most important decisions in the history of our global economy were made. The London Marriott Hotel, Grosvernor Square was at the center of it all—hosting dignitaries, special events, and numerous social gatherings throughout the G20 Summit. MeetingMatrix® Was There for the 2009 Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama on January 20th, 2009, an historic day that will forever be remembered by millions of people from all over the world. On a brilliant but frigid day in the nation’s capital, President Obama took the oath of office on Abraham Lincoln’s Bible to become the 44th President of the United States of America. This was a day of celebration for the country; from the swearing in of the nation’s first African American president, to the inaugural balls, it truly was an unforgettable day.

MeetingMatrix Was There for the NFL International Series played at London's Wembley Stadium!

MeetingMatrix Was There when the New Orleans Saints defeated the San Diego Chargers 37-32 at London’s Wembley Stadium. The Landmark London was there to partake in all of the NFL International action as the host hotel. When Lucy White, Director of Conference and Banqueting at the Landmark London, was asked about the role MeetingMatrix has at their property her response was, “We use MeetingMatrix on every single event and it is now part and parcel of our sales process and is invaluable to our business. MeetingMatrix Was There for the 37th Ryder Cup Matches in Louisville, Kentucky!

When Mark Zanni, Director of Marketing at the Frazier International History Museum, was asked about the role MeetingMatrix had in executing events for the Ryder Cup his response was, “Using MeetingMatrix is such a huge time saver for our facility rentals department, especially during times like the Ryder Cup when we have multiple events in one weekend. Four of our PCMA Space Verified properties in Beijing, China were there for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games!

MeetingMatrix Was There for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad in Beijing, China. From the moment the Olympic torch was lit on 08.08.2008, the fourteen days that followed were packed full of unforgettable accomplishments and memories that people from all over the World will never forget. The Olympic Games is a gathering of the Olympic Family and a grand event that symbolizes the exchange of multi cultures. From record breaking performances, such as Michael Phelps taking an astonishing eight gold medals and all but one accompanied by a world record, to acts of heroism, it was an event to remember. Four of our space verified properties in Beijing were there to take part in all of the Olympic action, and also ensured that their customers were able to successfully plan and execute all of their important meetings and events during such a significant time.

The Doral Golf Resort & Spa, A Marriott Resort, sets up for victory for the World Golf Championships CA Championship!

Christopher Bielski, Director of Sales & Marketing, had quite the task at hand with this particular global event, “The CA World Golf Championships included many different events and opportunities for the Doral Golf Resort and Spa, A Marriott Resort including sponsor receptions, hospitality areas, press conference rooms and an international media center to handle the huge demand for coverage of this world wide event. The Shuttle Endeavor successfully completed its sixteen day mission, returning to Earth on March 15, 2008. The Dallas Fairmont Sets Up for Victory
Senator John McCain clinches republican presidential nomination – MeetingMatrix®: 2007 Platinum+ Edition was used to setup the room for this historic event.

Ann Renneker, CMP, Director of Conference Services and Catering at The Fairmont Dallas, was a crucial reason McCain’s rally was executed to perfection. When asked if she used the MeetingMatrix software to set up for the event her response was, “Of Course I used MeetingMatrix for the layout of the room!” She went on to say that “MeetingMatrix was crucial in developing where the placement of the main stage, bleachers and the many media risers would be in the room.
